Hey there, I’m Bri and this is my web page! I’ve been creating for over 15 years and art is my everything. I work in many different mediums and have a wide range of specialties ranging from monochromatic dry mediums, all the way to collage work, and colorful, vibrant splatter paint. Painting is my world and I want to share it with you!
My artistic journey started as a young, rebellious teenager in high school. I had some rough times in those years of my life as I dealt with physical, emotional, and psychological abuse from my early adolescent years all the way into my early adulthood. During these times, I would create as a way to escape my reality and other times, I couldn’t create at all. I dealt with many struggles in my early adulthood as I dealt with continued abuse in relationships, homelessness, and living from place to place. Sometimes that meant in my car, sometimes that meant living in the home of a hoarder. Working two jobs at this time, seven days a week, I had to find a way out. I didn’t want to keep being miserable and barely surviving. At the age of 21, I took a job as a table games dealer at a casino and loved it. I worked there for 5 years and made some of the best friendships I had ever made in my life, but even working a job where I made good money wasn’t enough to keep me around. I wasn’t happy. I began to create again and would work on orders for clients on my breaks at work. By the age of 23, I decided I wanted to start my own art business, but I didn’t quite know what that looked like. I started with painting wooden letters for children’s rooms and things expanded from there.
I began to attend conventions as a vendor which was an idea given to me by a good friend of mine. My first-time vending was at FlatCon in Bloomington, IL. Around 2 years later, I took on a business partner and what was formerly known as Bri’s Arts and Crafts became Bubbles and Brushes. My business partner, Colby, and I began to attend bigger conventions such as Indiana Comic Con for a couple of years. At one of those conventions I met a wonderful man, Russell (and later found out he knew my business partner), who I spent 3 amazing years with and sadly lost him to suicide just shortly after us purchasing our first home together. During our 3 years together, I began to attend the Milan Art Institute, an online program to continue to further my skills in my craft. Since his passing, my work has slowed down but has still managed a steady pace. I create pieces through emotional stimulation as a therapy for myself. I hope to continue my schooling and one day be comfortable enough again to attend conventions as a vendor in the future. Eventually, I plan to have my work housed in some of the world’s greatest galleries, museums, and homes across the globe. For now, I will continue to create in the privacy of my home and create whatever my soul requires.
